Sad state of higher education

Here is an article that bemoans the sad state of higher education. An education in the liberal arts is hard to find these days. One can get such an education here at USU, but you have to be self-motivated, the university’s core requirements are terribly insufficient.

Here is the article: TheStateofHigherDesperation.pdf.

By the way, I posted this article some time ago on usuphilosophy.com, but thought that some of my newer students might be interested.

About Kleiner

Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Utah State University. I teach across the curriculum, but am most interested in continental philosophy, ancient and medieval philosophy as well as Catholic thought, all of which might be summed up as an interest in the ressourcement tradition (returning in order to make progress). I also enjoy spending time thinking about liberal education and its ends.
