Long lost twin?

For students wanting to know what I looked like in college. (click “read more” for a bigger version of picture).

This photo has been circulating around some of my old friends from Cornell College. I have no idea who the person in the photo is, but many of my old college buddies were convinced it was me (it is not). To give you some idea of who I was in college – some of my old friends, with whom I had lost touch, apparently thought that I might really have retreated to the mountains to live off the land.

When I showed the picture to my wife, she thought it was me from 1998 or so. It is actually amazing how much this guy looks like what I looked like with long hair. I wonder who he is. I hope he is some other version of me, sort of an alternate me in a real “choose your own adventure” life series. Only in this version of my life, I never become a religious convert, marry and have kids. Rather I live out the commune/hippie trajectory I was on in college, and likely spend the little money I make from gold dust on whiskey and smokes.

About Kleiner

Associate Vice Provost and Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Utah State University. I teach across the curriculum, but am most interested in continental philosophy, ancient and medieval philosophy as well as Catholic thought, all of which might be summed up as an interest in the ressourcement tradition (returning in order to make progress). I also enjoy spending time thinking about liberal education and its ends.
