Good Muslim / Bad Muslim

Click “Read more” below to see an interesting debate between Robert Spencer and Peter Kreeft on Islam and the modern world. Both speakers are noted authors in the fields of philosophy, theology, and religious studies (and I should say that Peter Kreeft was my mentor at Boston College). The debate was held at Thomas More College, a tiny (100 students) great books college that is seriously Catholic. So you should know that the debate takes on an overtly Catholic tone. Still the debate should be of interest to anyone interested in religious studies or the Islamic question. The debate – are good Muslims really bad Muslims? In other words, are “moderate Muslims” really “good Muslims”?

About Kleiner

Associate Vice Provost and Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Utah State University. I teach across the curriculum, but am most interested in continental philosophy, ancient and medieval philosophy as well as Catholic thought, all of which might be summed up as an interest in the ressourcement tradition (returning in order to make progress). I also enjoy spending time thinking about liberal education and its ends.
